Bithrazenol

Posted by Kramy on February 3rd, 2006

Bithrazenol (Noun)
Pronounced bye-thraz-e-noll

A generic term used in marketing copy for chemical-related products, specifically for shampoo bottles, when designing packaging for a new product line. Sounding like a chemical compound, Bithrazenol is non-existent and is used as blanket copy to be replaced with a genuine chemical within the product closer to launch.

Please develop a package design for this new shampoo — remember to include the generic chemical Bithrazenol ‘Now with 10% extra!’.

Who am I?

Posted by Administrator on October 31st, 2005

On the weekend I went to an 80’s party, and one of my colleagues dressed up as a hero of the 80’s (I of course dressed up as the super-hero Michael Knight). Anyways, to let us know who he was dressing up as he sent us this cryptic image….. who was he?

New Gillette Shaver Fusion

Posted by Kramy on September 15th, 2005

I saw on NBC that Gillette unveiled its new 5-blade razor called the Fusion. First thoughts. 5-blades! I used the Schick 4-blade Quattro and it was crap. To big, too hard to manouvre. But then again that Schick for you - I love the name, but their blades always seem to scratch me - AND all the hairs get blocked in the shaver. Bad design - do they even product test these things?

New Gillette Shaver

Kevin Glennon has the scoop on an even newer shaver by Gillette, called the “The Mach 4 Meat Grinder” - that sucker is sure to make the closest shave yet….and leave half your face in the sink!

Waiting for previous page to be dried

Posted by Kramy on September 15th, 2005

Well, I was trying to print out heaps of pages on draft mode on my Canon i965 printer. It was going really slow. The message kept saying “Waiting for previous page to be dried.” Hmmm, why’s this I thought? It’s never been like this before. It’s gotta be a setting….so I looked into it…me find nothing…so I went to canon.com.au and searched through the faq and the online manual….me find nothing…so I search Google.com…nope nothing again! So in one last ditch effort I checked the more in depth settings….
1. under printer and faxes in control panel
2. File…. Properties
3. Maintenance Tab.
4. Custom Settings.
5. Ink Drying Wait Time … short > long.

I changed it to short, and pressed Send. Bingo!

I must have changed it when I was trying to get my printer to print yellow without lines, that time the ink head was fuctis_ and it was gonner cost me $309 for a new ink-head. Luckily I got it done under warranty. Lucky break.

Thunderbird - autocomplete address when sending emails

Posted by Kramy on August 16th, 2005

Sick of sending emails to the wrong people because of the autocomplete function in Thunderbird?

This is the fix for it:

In Thunderbird go to Tools and then Options. Click “Composition” located under “Address Autocompletion” and uncheck “Local Address Books”.

For those that use other crappy email clients, ie; outlook click here.

Extend rings on mobile phone

Posted by Administrator on July 18th, 2005

Sick of your mobile always going to message bank without you answering it - because it only rings for 15 seconds?

My boss was. He asked me to extend the rings. After going through the phone and realising I couldn’t do it, I searched the Internet. I didn’t find anything. I knew there were codes that you could type in - from my previous work experience. But couldn’t find it. I had to call Telstra. The provided me with the code that I knew existed. And today I share it with ye:

The below code will extend number of rings to 30 secs (from 15 seconds) before it deverts to message bank.

Just type it like you would a phone number:

**61*101**30# (dial)

or:

**61*mobilenumber*10# (dial)

Hope this helps anyone that stumbles across it.

(Works for Telstra in Australia, may not work for CDMA.)
